You can connect an ArduSimple GNSS RTK receiver with SurPad 4.2 software using Bluetooth, Serial Port, and TCP Client methods.
Serial Port Connection Method
1. Prepare the Receiver:
• Ensure your ArduSimple receiver is ready and has a serial connection available.
2. Connect via USB OTG:
• Use a USB OTG cable to connect your receiver to the Android device through a serial-to-USB adapter.
• Ensure the connection is secure and the receiver is powered on.
3. Configure SurPad 4.2:
• Open SurPad 4.2.
• Go to the "Device" - "Communication" menu and look for the GNSS receiver setup option.
• Select "Device Manufacturer: Other" and choose "Serial Port" as the communication mode.
• Select the appropriate USB serial port from the list.
• Save the settings and connect.
4. Verify Connection:
• Ensure SurPad 4.2 is receiving data from the receiver. You should see updates in satellite data and positional information.
• You can enter the "Debug" menu to view the NMEA message output from your receiver.
• Place the receiver antenna in an open area with a clear view of the sky to ensure the best possible quality of satellite signal reception.
