You can connect an ArduSimple GNSS RTK receiver with SurPad 4.2 software using Bluetooth, Serial Port, and TCP Client methods.
Bluetooth Connection Method
1. Prepare the Receiver:
• Ensure your ArduSimple receiver has a Bluetooth module and that it is powered on and discoverable.
2. Pair the Receiver with Android Device:
• On your Android device, go to the Bluetooth settings.
• Scan for available devices and pair with your ArduSimple receiver. It should appear with a name indicative of its function.
3. Configure SurPad 4.2:
• Open the SurPad 4.2 application.
• Navigate to the "Device" - "Communication" menu and look for the GNSS receiver setup option.
• Select "Device Manufacturer: "Other" and choose "Bluetooth" as the communication mode.
• Select your ArduSimple receiver from the list of paired Bluetooth devices.
• Save the settings and connect.
4. Verify Connection:
• Ensure SurPad 4.2 is receiving data from the receiver. You should see updates in satellite data and positional information.
• You can enter the "Debug" menu to view the NMEA message output from your receiver.
• Place the receiver antenna in an open area with a clear view of the sky to ensure the best possible quality of satellite signal reception.
